I came across this poem in a Facebook Fibromyalgia Support Group, and wanted to share with you as it is very well written, and well said.

This illness sucks the living daylights out of who it touches, and it is NO FUN. Living with constant all over severe body pain, crippling fatigue, memory loss, inability to form whole sentences, depression, anxiety, insomnia, just to name a few, SUCKS! Not being able to work full time, play the sports and do the activities I want to do, spend time with family and friends, clean, cook, do regular errands, is a huge pain in the butt. Having to “count our spoons” every morning just to decide what can and cannot be done that day, SUCKS!

However, as I’ve mentioned before, yes this illness sucks, BUT I think I was meant to suffer so that I could then help heal others. My mission…

  1. I *think* I can somewhat relate. I have a host of largely undiagnosed pains that sometimes show up unannounced, unwelcome always, acutely, ranging in severity – and turn me into a blubbering mess crippled with pain. I had a doctor tell me I had fibro more than 10 years ago when it wasn’t even really recognized and I’ve become almost used to the fact that I have not a single day without any pain. Isn’t that absurd 😦
