Chicken and Egg

Does anyone else think that maybe Fibromyalgia could be caused or at least exacerbated by stress / depression?

I never really thought it could, or was, but I’ve noticed I feel worse when things are not going right.

Like today, my daughters  birthday, and I am of course skint. Esa  is a piffling  amount, despite working 34 years, the amount is universally  the same regardless  of how much you have paid into the system and believe me, the government  don’t want you to have even that 😦

So I had to order a present from Groupon,  you guessed it, it never arrived, so I feel terrible.

Then her dad whom I was married to for 11 years, together for 19 years, but now have been divorced for 10 years, rocks up with presents and money and announces he is taking everyone out for dinner. (Not me -I’ve always been a ghost, since the divorce).

So I’ve sat here, alone again on yet another daughters birthday, while they are all out.  It has happened 3 times a year for the last 2-3 years.  Its soul destroying. So I’m stressed and lonely.

I am sure this makes things worse.
When I was working and had money and could enjoy nights out and spend time with my kids, I wasn’t so fed up and sickly.

Tbh I suppose it’s chicken and egg.

Tbh I suppose  I’m just fed up.

  1. I think stress and/or stressful situations CAN affect fibro symptoms and can cause them to flare up a little bit more. It’s like pain is bad enough when we’re at ease, but if things get tense, overwhelming, etc., it makes fibro symptoms kick up even more.

Sending gentle hugs your way. ❤

  2. I agree, on a daily bases when you are mentally/emotionally okay but your are physically hurting is not great but when you are experiencing hurt/pain on an emotional level it definitely causes more pain in a physical aspect.

Sorry to hear about your situation with your daughters birthday as well :/❤️
